SPECIALIST TESTING & INSPECTION

Foam System Conductivity Test

Conductivity testing of AFFF foam solution that confirms your proportioning system delivers the correct 3% or 6% concentration — so the foam suppresses the fire as designed.

Method
Conductivity, against a calibration curve
Sampling
3 discharge samples at 20, 40 & 60 s

WHY IT MATTERS

The right foam concentration puts the fire out

A foam system relies on its proportioner injecting exactly the right amount of concentrate into the water stream. Too little produces weak, unstable foam that breaks down on the fire; too much wastes expensive concentrate and shortens the system’s discharge time.

Fire Cloud carries out conductivity testing for AFFF foam systems at 3% and 6% concentration, confirming that the foam-to-water ratio discharged by your system stays within the required range.

What you receive
  • On-site calibration with your own water and foam concentrate
  • Live discharge sampling at 20, 40 and 60 seconds
  • Test report with conductivity readings and the calculated concentration
  • Clear pass / fail result and recommendations if adjustment is needed
  • Testing for deluge, bladder-tank and foam-water systems
TEST PROCEDURE

How the conductivity test works

  1. Prepare reference samplesThree graduated bottles are filled with 100 ml of the same water that supplies the deluge system and foam bladder tank.
  2. Add foam concentrate2, 3 and 4 ml of water are removed and replaced with 2, 3 and 4 ml of foam concentrate.
  3. Build the calibration curveEach sample is mixed thoroughly, its conductivity measured with a calibrated meter, and the readings recorded.
  4. Live foam dischargeThe system is discharged and three samples are taken — after 20, 40 and 60 seconds.
  5. Compare the resultsThe average of the three discharge readings is compared with the calibration samples.
  6. Confirm the concentrationFor a 3% system, the result must fall between 3% and 4% — confirming the discharge is at the correct concentration to suppress the fire.
