HYBRID WIRELESS FIRE DETECTION

Wireless Fire Alarm Systems

Hochiki Ekho hybrid wireless fire detection — wireless sensors, call points, sounders and modules that join your addressable fire alarm loop through a single Translator, with no cabling to the field devices. Surveyed, installed and programmed by Hochiki-trained engineers.

OVERVIEW

Complete fire detection, without cabling every device

Ekho is a hybrid system: a Translator module is wired into the loop of an addressable fire alarm panel, and every sensor, call point, sounder and module beyond it communicates by radio. The panel sees each wireless device as a normal loop address, so alarms, faults and outputs are managed exactly as on a wired system.

Where cabling is difficult, disruptive or impractical — occupied buildings, finished interiors, extensions to an existing system — wireless devices cut installation time and disruption. Expanders extend coverage and form a self-configuring mesh, so every device always has a path back to the panel.

What you receive
  • Radio survey of the site with the Ekho survey kit before design
  • Translator and Expander positions planned for reliable signal
  • Device configuration in the Ekho Configurator software
  • Signal-strength checks and full commissioning
  • Engineers trained and certified by Hochiki Middle East on the Ekho range
SELF-CONFIGURING MESH

The signal always finds a way back to the panel

Wireless devices are not tied to a single Expander. Each one continuously picks the strongest signal path back to the Translator — and if an Expander loses power or its signal is blocked, devices switch to the next-best path automatically.

*Ranges are measured in open air, as is standard for radio systems. Inside buildings the range is shorter and depends on the construction, which is why every project starts with a radio survey. Panel compatibility with the Ekho (ESP) protocol is confirmed before specifying.

HOW WE DELIVER

Surveyed first, so it works first time

  1. Radio surveyWe measure wireless link quality at the real device positions using the Ekho survey kit, before anything is installed.
  2. DesignTranslators and Expanders are planned from the device count, the building construction and the survey results.
  3. InstallationThe Translator is wired to the panel loop and Expanders to a 24 VDC supply. Field devices need no cabling.
  4. ConfigurationFrequency channels are scanned and devices linked and addressed in the Ekho Configurator software.
  5. Commissioning & handoverConnection strength, events and analog values are verified, then the system is tested and handed over.
Extending an existing fire alarm system?

Ekho connects to ESP-protocol addressable panels. We confirm your panel’s compatibility first, then add wireless devices without new cabling.
